In the US House of Representatives, the election for a seat in the state of North Carolina must be repeated. An associate of Republican Republican candidate Mark Harris, who was just barely victorious in last November's general election, was said to have used dishonest methods.

Harris himself said at a hearing on Thursday that he believed that the conditions were met for a repeat. His coworker should have manipulated the postal ballot procedure. Harris' own son, a prosecutor, had to admit at a hearing to have warned the father. He had previously stated that there had been no warnings and that the matter was a malicious invention of the Democrats.

Democrats supporters demanded that Harris leave his seat to his opponent, Dan McCready, who was clearly struck by the victory. Harris, a right-wing conservative pastor whose candidacy had been explicitly supported by President Donald Trump, had a margin of less than 1,000 votes despite the manipulation.

Should a new election be won by a candidate of the Democrats, that would have hardly any noticeable effect in the House of Representatives. The Democrats have a clear majority there even without the seat from North Carolina.
