An allosaurus and a camptosaurus, presented for the first time in a fight scene, will be auctioned in Paris on November 21st, Artcurial auction house announced.

Who wants to buy one or two dinosaur skeletons? In recent years, the phenomenon is trend in some collectors.

This time, on November 21st, two dinosaurs, an allosaurus of the tyrannosaurus family, and a camptosaurus, presented for the first time in a battle scene, will be auctioned in Paris on November 21st.

Discovered in Wyoming

The reconstruction of this prehistoric brawl will highlight the two skeletons of more than 4 meters long, on the occasion of a free exhibition, open to the public from 15 to 19 November, in the salons Artcurial, at the roundabout of Champs -Elysées.

Sold separately and estimated to be between € 500,000 and € 800,000 each, these two Jurassic Giants (148 to 154 million years old) are on sale by a European collector and have been discovered in the state of Wyoming, United States.

Carnivore against herbivore

The allosaurus, carnivorous and scavenger, could weigh up to 2 tons. Its 55% complete skeleton, is one of the best specimens ever found, according to the experts at the auction house.

Among the most ferocious predators of the Jurassic, the allosaurus is one of the largest theropods, capable of reaching exceptionally up to 10 to 12 meters long and weighing from 1 to 2 tons. With agile and powerful members, including his hind legs, he could reach 30 to 50 km / h.

Herbivorous and mainly bipedal, the camptosaurus could measure up to 7 meters long. His skeleton is 90% complete. His jaw could count nearly 3,000 spiked teeth. His long hind legs allowed him to reach a running speed of 25 to 40 km / h.
