Belgian goalkeeper Thibault Cortois has once again confirmed that he is not going through the best of his career and caused his country to receive a goal after a serious mistake during the game that brought them and Russia on Thursday in the European Cup of Nations 2020.

At the King's Court in Brussels, the Belgian team won a deserved 3-1 victory over their Russian side in the first round of Group Nine qualifiers.

Yuri Telemans scored for Belgium 14 minutes, but the joy of the owners of the ground progress did not last long, after Denise Cherchev goal of the equalizer 16 minutes, taking advantage of a naive edge of the goalkeeper.

The Belgian goalkeeper tried to control the ball and pass it on to a colleague, but was forced to pass it wrongly to striker Cherchev.

The mistake has been compounded by the problems of Cortois, who won the title of best goalkeeper in the world last season, before falling back impressively and being widely criticized for poor performances at Real Madrid.

Cortoa had many goals with Real in a naïve and missed way at crucial moments, and was unable to help the team avoid successive skirmishes that caused the loss of the current season of the Royal Club.

The goalkeeper is condemned to his teammate Eden Hazard, who scored a double and led Belgium to return in yesterday's game, and to make a perfect start in the qualifiers.
