Quebec: 18,000 immigration cases canceled

An association of Quebec lawyers is suing the Quebec government to force it to process 18,000 cases currently pending for an immigration application in this Canadian province. The Minister of Immigration has just tabled a bill that changes the selection rules for those who want to come to Quebec. He has been wiping out requests that have been waiting for more than three years. This reform aims to recruit immigrants whose skills meet the needs of Quebec employers. Immediate consequence, some people already installed in Quebec must pack their bags.
