“Step by step, we are approaching EU membership, NATO membership, and don’t believe those skeptics who say it will never happen,” Ukrinform quotes the president.
He recalled that the Ukrainian delegation was at a session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin was at a meeting of the Strategic Partnership Commission in Washington.
“Both there and there it was clearly stated: the doors of NATO for Ukraine are open, everything depends on you - carry out reforms, change the country and everything will be fine. The same applies to the European Union, ”Poroshenko added.
Earlier, Poroshenko said that the consolidation in the Constitution of Ukraine’s course on joining NATO is a reason to “once again wave a handle to Moscow.”
In August, the Hungarian Foreign Ministry noted that Ukraine itself was to blame for its problems with joining the EU and NATO.
