In Ukraine, the law on the recognition of members of the UPA as participants in hostilities came into force

This is reported by the TV channel "112 Ukraine".

As specified, the procedure for granting the status of a combatant to these persons will be established by the government.

At the end of December 2018, the Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko signed this law.

It was noted that the relevant decree makes changes to Art. 6 of the law “On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection” and expands the list of participants in hostilities. Thus, they will recognize, among other things, members of the UPA unit Ataman Taras Borovets (Bulba) “Polesskaya Sich” and units of the extremist Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.
