The Investment Conference for the Future, 2018, launched this evening the Sharjah Declaration for Youth Empowerment, which resulted from the first day of the conference between representatives of international and local government and non-governmental organizations and young people in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The Declaration includes nine main axes, including young people in general, refugee youth, children and women, and calls for the creation of a social, economic and academic climate to empower young people with the necessary skills and expertise, as well as resources to support plans and programs for training and scientific and vocational training in countries suffering from conflict and poverty.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Humanitarian Envoy of the Heart Foundation, Sara Bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Science, and Shaikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council attended the closing session.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Humanitarian Envoy of the Heart Foundation said: "Despite the horrors of the conflicts and the ensuing destruction, the coercive conditions do not mean wars alone, there are difficult situations that surpass their disasters on the arms war. In many societies, especially in the Middle East and North Africa, the marginalization of young people, the lack of opportunities for decision-making and the shaping of the future of their countries. "

He added: "There are international reports to alarm the rise of illiteracy rates among young people in poor countries and countries of conflict, and challenges to abort the dreams of young people and guide their thinking towards division and terrorism." Pointing out that the danger areas are dire and require immediate recognition, especially as they are linked to the destinies of countries and later periods of time.
