People from the "yellow vests" intend to present a list in the European elections of May 2019. At their head for the moment: the Normande Ingrid Levavasseur, a 31-year-old caregiver who became a figure in the "yellow vests" movement, and who had given up trying to become a columnist on BFMTV after receiving threats.
The name, "citizen initiative rallying", was chosen for its acronym, "RIC", which is the same as for " citizens ' initiative referendum ", one of the key measures requested by the movement launched in November.
The goal, says one of the initiators interviewed by Agence France-Presse, Hayk Shahinyan, is to establish a list of 79 candidates by mid-February, while MEPs from the Strasbourg Parliament will be elected on 26 may.
" We could very well have 79 candidates today, but we chose to open to the participative. There will be an internal vote between the current candidates to designate the others, "said the latter, bombed campaign manager.
Hayk Shahinyan, who is not on the list at the moment, says the call is open to " all citizens ". The "RIC" is a " coordination resulting from different initiatives ", can we also read in the press release.

" We just want these potential MEPs in yellow vests not to be members of a party or an individual, but to be at the disposal of the citizens, " adds the former member of the socialist youths.
" It is the citizens who will decide what we will vote in the European Parliament, project after project, and we will leave the European Parliament of a form of opacity in which it is currently, " he promises.
A list "yellow vests", a danger for whom?
The polls lend a nice electoral potential to the yellow vests. Investigations into a list that would come out of the movement - not precisely this RIC list - even promise them third place in the poll behind the RN and LREM.
