Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said the Middle East economy would be better off after five years. He also acknowledged that Qatar had a strong economy despite the row and that its economic plans would work.

In his speech at the Saudi Investment Forum held in Riyadh on Wednesday, bin Salman said that "the countries surrounding us are moving in the way of the success of their economic plans, including Qatar," stressing that despite the dispute with Qatar, it has a strong economy and will be better after five years.

The crown prince said the Middle East was the "new Europe". "I do not want to die before I see the Middle East as a global leader," he said.

Qatar central bank governor Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani said on Saturday that the central bank's international reserves were "more than sufficient" to meet the challenges of the blockade, which rose by 10 percent by the end of April last June.
