The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal on Tuesday sentenced an Asian defendant sentenced to death for murdering a man and attempting to rape his wife to be sentenced on 13 November. The defendant's lawyer tried to argue that the crime occurred in self-defense, .

The victim contacted her husband, who was present with two friends at work and quarreled with the defendant, who took a knife and gave the victim 13 stabbings that killed him. The criminal court sentenced him to death.

In his defense to the Court of Appeal, the defense of the defendant, Nasser Al Shamsi, said that the accused had no intention of attempting to rape the wife of the victim, that he was a neighbor, not a worker, and was taking care of his young child while his wife was working. To know him, and during their presence in the apartment heard the sound of crying his child, he decided to go, but the accused was angry and tried to prevent him from going out and fight with them.

Al-Shamsi pointed out that the wife of the victim contacted her husband and claimed that the defendant entered her apartment and tried to assault her. The victim and two of his colleagues came to the victim and assaulted the defendant and wounded him in the body. He tried to defend himself through a knife that was located in the location of the incident, That the forensic report showed injuries to the defendant's body, and that the testimony of the forensic doctor stated that the injuries in the defendant's body could be the result of the incident in question.

The defense denied the possibility that the defendant would be stabbed with a stab in the presence of his wife and two friends. The coroner's testimony also indicated that the stiffs in the victim's body were carried out by more than one person.

Al-Shamsi demanded the acquittal of his client, especially since he had not planned to commit the crime before, was in a position of self-defense, and used the principle of commutation of the sentence under article 66 of the Penal Code as a precaution.
