Farid Belounas - Algeria

The central post office in the heart of the Algerian capital is filled with the noise of passers-by and those sitting in coffee shops. The sound of vehicles is mixed with the policeman's whistles and the sound of metro trains. In the midst of this noise, the Yemeni artist paints his paintings to his customers.

The Algerian plastic artist, Ali Yamani, is 28 years old. He studied sculpture in four fine arts schools, but he was forced to take to the street to practice his profession in portraiture, unlike his studies.

Due to his current situation, Yemen lacks the means to practice sculpture, the closure of all official institutions, and Yemen's society has refused to encourage this type of art.

He believes that the artist in Algeria suffers from this art, which does not fill the basic necessities of life, and believes that the thief or the seller of vegetables or a factor in construction works in a better financial situation, he said, adding that his ability with this art will not change.

Despite all the problems Yemen suffers, it continues to work to improve its technical level, once it reaches the world thanks to its golden aspirations.
