Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal yesterday appealed appeals from 28 European and Asian countries convicted of seizing 635 million dirhams from a bank and decided to postpone the case to November 11.

The defense of the defendants asked the court to attend the prosecution witnesses in the case and to form a tripartite committee to determine the value of the sums seized.

The details of the case are due to the failure of the Abu Dhabi Treasury Department, in cooperation with the Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigation, to plot the seizure of AED 635 million from a bank account using IT means.

The investigations revealed that the employees of the bank informed the Central Bank of an unusual withdrawal from the bank account. The court ordered the funds' behalf to freeze the funds withdrawn. The investigation revealed that one of the employees entered the bank's electronic system using the password of another employee. And used to transfer various amounts totaling AED 635 million to the accounts of five companies in five different banks.

The transfer of funds was initiated by implementing the transfer orders in the morning as soon as the electronic system was opened. These movements were monitored after a warning was given that there was insufficient balance in the bank account due to early time.

And tracked the amounts transferred, it turned out that these amounts have been transferred to five major companies, including to several subsidiary companies distributed headquarters in various emirates of the state, as the investigation showed the existence of a neurological work to link the bank's employees with these key companies, and then link the main companies with others Sub-ratio of the amount per party. The Ministry of Finance decided to hold and freeze funds in the accounts transferred to it, in addition to issuing an order for the arrest of 6000 mobile phones worth about 10 million dirhams purchased with funds seized.

In May, the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court sentenced the defendants to 284 years of imprisonment, charging them with the rest of the money they had not yet received, fining them another 635 million dirhams equal to the amount seized and paying a temporary civil compensation of 21,000 dirhams to the bank Victim, plus all case charges.
