The Association of Rural Mayors of France launches an appeal in the Journal du Dimanche not to be "the eternally forgotten", asking the French to "support" them against the "blindness" of many leaders.

"It is important for us to make visible what you say every day to the mayors, and this reality is too little in the minds of those who govern," say the rural mayors. "Today we are launching this appeal to the people of France, we, elected rural, legitimate by election (...) we call the French to federate, not to give up the blindness of many of our leaders, "they continue. "Get rid of the 'redneck complex', which hampers the ability to act and claim a better future," they say. "To rebuild the country from the bottom up, we need to act together, and we mayors call on you to support us in imposing our common word in the national debate," they added. "We are the France that will succeed in making possible what is indispensable.We demand the legitimate consideration that rural inhabitants deserve," they continue, asking in particular if it is "normal that in terms of endowments to communities, an urban worth two rural ".

"Without you, we will not be able to do anything," the mayors insist. "Come to our town halls, amplify the ongoing transformation movement ... It is time to put an end to the territorial and social divides", they add, while the executive launched a big debate at the local level facing the crisis of "yellow vests".
