A man from Baden-Württemberg died after falling while skiing in Austria. The 54-year-old had come in poor visibility and strong winds in Obergurgl in Tyrol to a resulting in the preparation snow wall at the edge of the run, as the police announced.
It broke, according to authorities, the skis of the man. He fell over the ridge and dropped for about a hundred yards over steep, rocky terrain. He suffered deadly injuries.
Other skiers, according to the "Tiroler Tageszeitung", immediately dropped off an emergency call, but for the man any help came too late.
