Driving from the county seat of Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County in Guizhou, more than 10 minutes away, the Nanzhuang Village Committee Courtyard of Shasha Subdistrict appeared in front of us. Walking into the entrance of this three-story building, you can see the Nanzhuang Village Clinic at a glance. The "four rooms and one room" are fully functional, including the diagnosis room, treatment room, public health room, science promotion room, and pharmacy. Documents and public information such as work systems are hung on the walls, and there are various disease prevention brochures indoors. The direction sign at the door of the pharmacy shows that village doctor Wang Xiaoxia is on duty.

"Don't take anti-inflammatory drugs indiscriminately. You can only take them if you have inflammation. You should take cold medicine when you have a cold..." In the pharmacy of the village clinic, villager Zou Qingling proposed to prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs. Village doctor Wang Xiaoxia explained carefully and promptly popularized the idea of taking anti-inflammatory drugs freely. Harm.

"There are a lot of medicines in the village clinic, and Dr. Wang is very skilled. When our family members are sick, we come here to see her for treatment and prescribe medicines, which is very convenient." Zou Qingling's child has had a cold and runny nose in the past two days, "Doctor Wang has prescribed two Box of medicine.”

"The villagers say that medical treatment is becoming more and more convenient, thanks to the government's continuous investment in our village clinic in recent years." Wang Xiaoxia, who has worked in the village clinic for more than ten years, is deeply touched by this.

In the past, village clinics were small in area, had few types of drugs, and lacked medical equipment. Some villagers did not trust village doctors and would rather go to county hospitals for medical treatment when they were sick. "It's different now. If any villager has a headache or fever, they will come to the village clinic first to see me." Wang Xiaoxia said that most common diseases can be diagnosed and treated in the village clinic.

The Nanzhuang Village Clinic Pharmacy stocks 122 kinds of medicines and is equipped with 26 kinds of common medical equipment. The medical environment has been significantly improved. Anti-cold medicines, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular medicines, digestive system medicines, urinary system medicines, gynecological medicines... everything is available, and various medicines are arranged in categories, with rich varieties. Blood pressure monitors, thermometers, oxygen concentrators, sputum suction machines, sterile cabinets, treatment carts... all common medical equipment in the treatment room are available.

There are about 19,000 standardized village clinics like the Nanzhuang Village Clinic in Guizhou. In recent years, Guizhou has introduced a number of policies to promote the standardized development of village clinics and the construction of a team of rural doctors. In terms of optimizing service management, we will standardize the construction of village clinics across the province by standardizing the diagnosis and treatment subjects, rules and regulations, department settings, rural doctors' practice behavior, service behavior, and performance appraisal of village clinics; focusing on the safety and functionality of village clinic buildings We will carry out investigation, rectification and improvement actions to improve the service image in terms of layout, drug distribution, etc.; at the same time, we will carry out extended services such as village-level medical and health inspections and dispatches to dynamically eliminate service "blank spots" and ensure the medical needs of people in remote areas.

The Mingxing Village Clinic in Shasha Street, which is more than 20 minutes away from the Nanzhuang Village Clinic, is a standardized clinic put into use in early 2020. Village doctor Tian Weixiang provides health services to the whole village here.

"This is a newly built clinic. Since moving here, the people's medical experience has been obviously better. There are treatment rooms and pharmacies, and the villagers have more trust in doctors." Tian Weixiang said.

Village doctors are the "family doctors" of the whole village. Village doctors like Wang Xiaoxia and Tian Weixiang are rooted in the grassroots to protect the health of the villagers. There are more than 28,000 people in Guizhou. Their mobile phone numbers are the "120" of the whole village. When they are sick, Give me a call and we'll be able to help.

In addition to seeing patients and prescribing medicines, and making door-to-door follow-ups and delivering medicines, village doctors also do many "important things" related to people's health. They use their actual actions to interpret "a small village clinic serving millions of households."

In response to the construction of a team of village doctors, Guizhou has been guided by the actual needs of rural doctors for many years and focused on improving the practical skills of rural doctors in medical and health services. It has carried out online and offline rotation training to benefit on-the-job village doctors across the province and improved the medical and health services of rural doctors. Technical level, online and offline training of village doctors will reach 56,000 in 2023; actively open up development channels for village doctors, promote the transformation of rural doctors into practicing (assistant) physicians, explore the implementation of the establishment of village doctors, actively carry out special programs for rural college students, and encourage universities Graduates have joined village doctors to further supplement and optimize the team of rural doctors.
