The military expert, Colonel Hatem Al-Falahi, said that the bombing carried out by the Palestinian resistance today, Monday, was carried out with a heavy 120 mm mortar, with a range of up to 5 kilometers and up to 9 kilometers at its best, indicating that the recent American proposal regarding a truce seems vague and aims to strip the resistance of its weapons. .

In an analysis for Al Jazeera, Al-Falahi said that the bombing was often carried out by “bow shooting,” which is the usual method in light of the presence of military concentrations behind certain dirt berms, stressing that the bombing means the absence of control and security for the occupation forces.

Al-Falahi expected that the region would witness many bombing operations in the coming days because the occupation forces had largely withdrawn, giving the resistance the freedom to move and bomb the Gaza envelope area where the withdrawing forces were stationed.

However, the military expert believes that the occupation forces will carry out incursions and probing operations in a number of areas without the possibility of attacking the northern Gaza Strip in the future.

It is likely that the resistance will not move on a large scale after the withdrawal of the majority of Israeli forces because the Israelis will often install devices to monitor the movements of fighters and send them to other areas, which is something the resistance takes into account because it has been used in the past, according to him.

A vague proposal

On the political side, Al-Falahi said that the American proposal being talked about carries within it an attempt to disarm and force the resistance, or to release the prisoners and then return to war again.

The withdrawal of the occupation forces also represents a major issue for the resistance, which casts a lot of ambiguity about the intentions of this proposal, according to Al-Falahi, who pointed out that many matters related to the Israeli military presence in Gaza are still ambiguous.

He expressed his belief that the United States of America does not want a halt to the fighting as much as it wants to strip the resistance of all its cards by releasing all the prisoners, stressing that there are many question marks about this proposal.

He concluded that Washington is trying to cool the current heated situation, especially in light of the Iranian threat to respond to the bombing of its consulate headquarters in Damascus, and then return to fighting again.
