22 people were injured in a bus accident on Autobahn 44 in North Rhine-Westphalia on Friday night. According to a police spokesman, around 60 students from a vocational college in Warburg were sitting in the coach, which left the road near Werl for reasons that are still unclear and fell onto its side.

According to current knowledge, it was an accident without the involvement of other vehicles, according to the police. The A44 was completely closed from the Unna Ost exits to Werl in the direction of Kassel. In addition to the fire department, a rescue helicopter was also on duty.

It was only on Wednesday morning that there was a serious bus accident on the A9 near Leipzig. Four people died when a Flixbus overturned.
