A male harbor seal baby was born on the 27th at Oga Aquarium GAO in Oga City.
The baby, covered in white downy hair, is approximately 73 centimeters long and weighs approximately 12.5 kilograms.
On the 28th, Mizuki was exhibited in the exhibition space with her mother, Mizuki, and she looked adorable, crawling on the ground in an unaccustomed manner, and searching for her mother with her wide, round eyes.
A 4th grade elementary school boy who was sightseeing with his family from Iwate Prefecture said, ``The seal is cute because of its white color and small body.I want it to grow up to be healthy and energetic.''
According to the aquarium, the white downy hair will fall off in about 3 weeks, and after that, a mottled pattern similar to the mother's will appear.
Ryotaro Kakizoe, who is in charge of breeding, said, ``Seeing the baby's white appearance and the mother raising her child is precious, so please watch over it warmly.''
The baby's name has not yet been decided, and the aquarium plans to call for a name from the public.
