The number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in France has risen sharply in the past 24 hours, to 418, bringing the total to more than 37,435 since the start of the epidemic, according to figures from Public Health France on Monday.

The number of deaths in hospitals is 25,784, specifies Public Health France.

The number of coronavirus patients in intensive care or intensive care has also increased sharply, with 430 new admissions in twenty-four hours, bringing the total to 3,721 patients.

The number of resuscitation beds, already raised from 5,100 to 5,800 after the first epidemic wave, rose to 6,400 at the start of the week and should soon exceed 7,000.

The test positivity rate increases further

The epidemiologist Arnaud Fontanet, member of the Scientific Council, estimated this Sunday that the peak in intensive care could be reached during the "third week of November, and then we will see a decrease".

The number of people sick with the coronavirus and hospitalized reached 25,120 on Monday, or 2,547 more than the day before.

While the French are being massively tested, the number of new cases of contamination has jumped to 52,518 in twenty-four hours and the test positivity rate continues to increase, to 20.6% against 20.4% the day before.
