The tension does not fall in the Lyon area.

The day after the discovery of tags on the Armenian genocide memorial in Décines, new anti-Armenia inscriptions were identified on Monday in the city.

In the night from Sunday to Monday, the Armenian consulate in Lyon (3rd) was tagged with the following sentence: "1915. Coeur RTE", in reference to the year during which the Armenian genocide was committed but also to the initials by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Dozens of tags were also found on the walls of the town hall of Meyzieu, a neighboring town of Décines, where a strong Armenian community is concentrated.

"Nik Armenia", "Gray Wolves" or "Long live Erdogan" are among the sentences listed.

Dissolution of the Gray Wolves

"Unfortunately, the days follow and look alike," lamented the mayor of Meyzieu Laure Fautra, herself targeted by inscriptions.

And to add: "We will not give in!

Insults and threats should not be trivialized.

We must be intractable against these extremist movements which threaten the basis of our society ”.

Unfortunately the days follow / are alike!

These tags were entered last night in Meyzieu.

A message heard by Gérald Darmanin.

The Minister of the Interior announced on Monday afternoon that he was going to ask the government on Wednesday to dissolve Gray Wolves, a Turkish ultra-nationalist movement.

On Wednesday, strong tensions had enamelled in the agglomeration of Lyon and in Isère.

First in Vienna, when pro-Armenia activists, demonstrating at the Vienna toll gate to denounce the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, were attacked by members of the Turkish community.

That same evening, nearly 250 Turkish supporters marched through the streets of Décines to intimidate the Armenian community.
