Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that “actions will intensify” against radical Islam in France.

Five days after the assassination of the History professor Samuel Paty in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, the Head of State was traveling to Bobigny in Seine-Saint-Denis.

He chaired a meeting of the Cell for the fight against Islamism and community withdrawal (CLIR).

“It is not a question of making new declarations (…) these are acts which are expected by our fellow citizens.

These acts will intensify ”, he launched alongside the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin, while a vast police operation has been launched since Monday against the Islamist movement.

A pro-Palestinian collective dissolved

The President also announced that the pro-Palestinian collective Cheikh Yassine will be dissolved on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers.

Emmanuel Macron declared that this collective was "directly involved" in the savage assassination of the teacher.

"Decisions of this type against associations, groups of individuals, will follow in the coming days and weeks," he added.
