08.51 Less than 10% of humanity has antibodies to Covid-19

Studies that measure whether a community has developed antibodies against Covid-19 still show average percentages below 10%, so that most of humanity is still susceptible to the disease, an expert from the World Organization of Health (WHO).

The technical director of the organization for Covid-19, Maria Van Kerkhove, clarified that there are hundreds of these seroprevalence studies with very different results, so it is difficult to reach categorical conclusions, but in principle they show that more than 90% of subjects remain antibody free.

"Looking at them collectively, it seems that less than 10% of people show evidence of having been infected, so the majority of the world is still susceptible and all kinds of actions continue to be applied to prevent contagion," he said in a session of questions from Internet users on social networks, reports Efe.

08.15 The TSJM deliberates on restrictions to mobility so that it can be sanctioned

This Thursday or early on Friday the deliberations of the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) will be known about the new restrictions on mobility in 37 health areas agreed by the Community of Madrid to face the second part of the pandemic so that they are effective and valid.

As sources from the TSJM have specified to Europa Press, two writings from the Lawyers' Office of the Community of Madrid yesterday entered the registry of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the TSJM, which will be transferred to the Prosecutor's Office to rule on the ratification of the new order issued by the Ministry of Health.

The deliberation and ruling could be late on Thursday or early on Friday, according to the same sources.

The term established by law for resolution is three days from the date the writings have been entered.

Until the restrictions are endorsed by the TSJM, there will be random and selective informative controls to urge residents of areas with mobility limitations to comply with the new rules, but no sanctions will be issued.

08.06 Covid-19 Group Meeting between Government and Madrid

The Covid-19 Group, made up of the Vice President and spokesperson of the Community of Madrid, Ignacio Aguado, the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz-Escudero, and the Ministers of Health and Territorial Policy and Public Function, Salvador Illa and Carolina Darias, respectively, holds this Thursday a meeting with health technicians from the region.

For its part, the Community of Madrid, which tomorrow Friday will increase the areas with mobility restrictions, requests the Government in this meeting urgent military logistical support for sanitary tasks, collaboration in the controls of National Police and Civil Guard personnel and the recruitment than 300 extra community doctors.

Today, mobility affects 37 areas, which are located in six districts of the capital and in eight municipalities in the region.

The Minister of Health attends this meeting after saying that "you have to be prepared for all scenarios" and 24 hours before the new measures for the Madrid region that aim to avoid total confinement.

The meeting of this group is the result of the meeting between the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, in which they agreed to work together to stop the pandemic.

7.52 More than 31.7 million infected with Covid-19 in the world

The latest update of the data from the US Johns Hopkins University puts those infected with coronavirus at 31.7 million, with the United States as the main affected country with 6.9 million citizens, followed by India (6.6) and Brazil (4 ,5).

A ranking, in which Spain is in 8th place with 693,556 infected, but it appears as the first European country on the list.

France follows in eleventh place with 508,456 positive cases of coronavirus.

Regarding the death figures, the US registers 201,884, also as the first country in this dramatic list, but looking at Europe, the first country is the United Kingdom with 41,951 deaths (5th) followed by Italy with 35,758 (6th) and they follow France with 31,447 deaths (8th) and Spain with 31,034, in the 9th place of deaths in the world due to this pandemic.

07.37 Israel tightens confinement before the outbreak of the coronavirus

After the record of new cases in one day -9,623 registered-, the Israeli cabinet approves a two-week closure to stop the second wave in which prayers in places of worship and demonstrations will also be limited.

After the spring success and the summer failure in containing the coronavirus, Israel begins a harsh autumn marked by an unprecedented health and economic crisis under a second wave reflected this Tuesday in the record of daily infections touching 7,000, reports

Sal Emergui

from Jerusalem .

With this data on the table and despite its numerous discrepancies, the Israeli Government has voted this morning in favor of the tightening of the confinement that started last Friday with so many holes that it looked like a Gruyère cheese with a mask.

07.15 The Madrid City Council ceases the Samur workers hired by the Covid

The Central Sindical Independiente y de Servants (CSIF) criticizes that the second wave of Covid-19 is in full swing, and with Madrid having one of the highest contagion rates in Europe, the City Council of the capital will cease workers from the Samur- Civil Protection who were hired at the peak of the pandemic.

As they have indicated today in a press release, these workers have been "fundamental for the proper functioning of a service" already diminished "in personnel matters, so they understand that their termination places the Samur" on the edge of collapse".

"Thanks to this reinforcement staff, which has alleviated the staff shortages of this Madrid City Council service, high security standards have been achieved and its staff has been one of the least affected by Covid-19 ", they point out.

For their part, sources from the Security and Emergency Delegated Area have confirmed to Europa Press that due to the pandemic a Temporary Employment Plan was approved to enable these reinforcement contracts in the Samur, but that said plan had a non-extendable date of 30 September as the end, something that those new ones knew beforehand.

However, the Department of Finance of the Madrid City Council is working on the implementation of a similar reinforcement plan, which will be specified later.

Two models of mask are withdrawn from the market for not complying with the regulations

The General Directorate of Consumption of the Ministry of Consumption has ordered the withdrawal of the market of two models of mask for not justifying in their documentation the antiviral properties and filtration of bacteria that they claim to have, according to Facua.

These are the hygienic

Disposable Protective Mask

of the Tonqchen Wexin Labor Protection brand and the

Premium Disposable Face Mask

model JL-1-CE, without a known brand.

The first one indicates on the packaging that it has the property "Antivirus" but does not justify it with documentation, so there is an obvious risk to health.

In the second case, it appears on the packaging that it has the ability to filter bacteria, but it also does not justify it.

It also has properties of a PPE, such as the CE marking, but again it does not justify it in the documentation either.
