In March this year, South By Southwest (SXSW) became one of the first major events in the United States to be canceled due to the pandemic.
Due to the continued uncertain situation, "SXSW Online" is therefore arranged, with talks, screenings, exhibitions and opportunities for mingling, March 16-20 next year, the organizers write on the festival's website.
That does not mean that all hope for a physical festival on site in Austin, Texas, is extinguished.
According to the organizers, there is a "continuous dialogue with the city and the relevant authorities" about being able to arrange something.
Several Swedish bands and artists, including Arre! Arre !, Sarah Klang, Cobrah, Shitkid and Sofia Talvik, would have performed at this year's edition of the festival.
