Shortly after Abu Dhabi signed a peace and normalization agreement with Israel, and after the widespread Palestinian and Arab condemnation of this decision, describing it as a betrayal and a stab in the back, Yusef published a video clip in which he defended Israel, stressing that it did not cause problems or pain to the Arabs.

He said in the video clip, "reminding the Arabs themselves" - as he put it - that Israel did not destroy Iraq and did not burn Iraq, nor did it make Sunnis or Shiites in it, this kills for Abu Bakr and that kills for the sake of Hussein and Ali.

He went on to glorify Tel Aviv, saying, "Israel did not throw the barrel bombs on Syria, to kill the people of Syria, and it did not tear the Syrians on sectarian grounds."

He also asserted that Israel was not the one who incited Egypt against the people of Egypt. It did not encompass Hezbollah in the arms of the Lebanese state, did not tear the country apart on a sectarian basis, and did not embrace the Muslim Brotherhood, who said they were carrying arms and inciting the people to "ominous revolutions" in reference to the spring.

On the other hand, the Israel Boycott Movement (PDC) called for a boycott of Emirati scientific institutions due to their normalization. It signed a normalization memorandum of understanding with the Israeli "Weizmann" Institute of Science.

The "PDC" indicated that despite the passage of 42 years since the signing of the "Camp David" agreement between the Sadat regime and the occupying power, no university in Egypt has signed a cooperation agreement with any Israeli university.
