A surprise audience in Turkey

If Charlotte Cardin is in favor of streaming, it is mainly because these platforms allow her music to travel far beyond her expectations.

"Looking at the statistics on these sites, I discovered that I have a large following in Turkey," she wonders.

"I have never done a concert there, but apparently I have a very loyal 'following' in this country."

A discovery she was able to verify on September 18, during the first live broadcast of the music video for

Passive

Agressive, the first single from her debut album due out in 2021. "I read plenty of live comments that said 'On love you from Turkey ',' Turkey is behind you '", explains the Montreal artist.

"And I don't really know why I have an audience in this country, it's pretty magical. Maybe because a few of my songs had been on Turkish blogs at one point, but I didn't. realized that long after. "

Streaming, "an incredible wealth"

Charlotte Cardin is not unaware of the criticisms addressed to these sites, whose mode of remuneration is not very advantageous for the artists.

But for her, the essential is not there.

"We will say what we want about streaming sites, that ensures that there are no more borders," she observes.

"You can reach anybody at any time, I think that's an incredible wealth."

Beyond the global public who have access to her work through these sites, Charlotte Cardin is also delighted with the discoveries that she makes there as an auditor.

“Streaming is a great way to consume music and have access to a wide variety of artists,” she insists.

"Thanks to the playlists offered and the exchanges with my friends via streaming sites, I discover great music."
