France recorded nearly 13,500 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, a number equivalent to that recorded the day before, but the positivity rate increased, for the first time in ten days, according to data released Saturday by Public Health France.

The number of new positive coronavirus cases in 24 hours is 13,498.

The positivity rate, corresponding to the share of positive people compared to the total number of people tested, increased for the first time in ten days, to 5.6% (against 5.4% the day before).

There are also 26 additional deaths.

Since the start of the epidemic, at least 31,274 deaths have been recorded in France, including 20,714 in hospitals.

An acceleration of new hospitalizations

3,853 Covid patients were hospitalized over the last seven days, 227 more than the figures announced the day before, including 593 in intensive care, said the public health service.

Over the past 24 hours, 470 people have been newly hospitalized and 73 people have entered intensive care or intensive care, across the country.
