Under the title "An Authentic Mark", three Emirati artists held a collective exhibition of the art of drawing through hand-printing technology, with the participation of more than 125 artists from 31 countries. It is the third exhibition organized with this theme, as participation has been opened for this year via the Internet.

The exhibition, which is being held at “Shaghaf” Gallery in the “Dubai Design District,” carries a large group of works that were carried out through engraving and coloring, and then printed the painting, after it was engraved and carved on special molds, to present many scenes related to nature, And faces, as well as paintings that highlight the culture, heritage, and history of the Emirates.

A passion for art

The Emirati artist, Ahlam al-Aref, who participated in three paintings and organized the exhibition, also told "Emirates Today" that she followed her passion for art, to sharpen the talent through studying at the university, focusing on the technique of hand-printing by drawing, because it is one of the techniques not known much to For the public, as it is not widely worked out.

Al-Aref confirmed that she participated in exhibitions similar to the theme of this exhibition outside the country, as there are many exhibitions that focus on this type of art, providing some explanations on how to implement works, through manual printing, which is done by printing drawings on paper, then Start with engraving, and engraving can be done on glass or other molds, and then colored and then printed in black and white or color.

Al-Aref noted her love for black and white, especially as it carries the old style, as it seeks to highlight the history and culture of the Emirates, especially in its participation outside the country.

As for the exhibition, and the artist was distinguished among the many and similar works, Al-Aref confirmed that each artist has a style and technique in drawing, and they highlight his works and his way of expression, considering that the artist in the Emirates needs support, in order to be able to prove himself, because the artistic career needs more Focus on Emirati artists.

Business and arts

The artist Fatima Al-Marri indicated that she combines business administration and the arts, and was able to study and innovate in the two fields to the same degree, explaining that she draws inspiration from her personal life, and presented in the exhibition a painting expressing her brothers and the trust that unites them, while in the second painting she provided the support she received from Those around them.

Al-Marri noted that she seeks to make art a medium through which she reflects her feelings and experiences, as her passion for arts has been great, since her university days, considering that art is a way of expressing self and society.

Great curiosity

Al-Marri pointed out that the audience enters the exhibition with great curiosity, in order to know the nature of the techniques used, and the surprise is that the works are busy digging.

As for the importance of this exhibition, Al-Marri considered that it comes on two levels: First, it is an artistic station for Al-Marri that can gain experience, especially technical exchange, with other experiences, in addition to personal experience, especially as it is one of the organizers.

Al-Marri emphasized that this exhibition, which was organized individually, is very important, as the junior Emirati artist needs support, to be in the exhibitions more, to grow in the artistic process in an integrated manner, considering that they need support, to build the first studio specialized in hand-printing in art.

An opportunity to express

The artist Alia Al Shehhi, who participated in one painting expressing her nostalgia for her father, saw that as an artist carrying a passion for the art of printing, especially as she studied visual arts and “graphic design”, the exhibition is considered a platform to present this type of art to the public, especially as it carries a lot of passion. Drawing by hand engraving, and thus the exhibition aims to promote this type of art, which is widely spread in the West, and is considered a little widespread in the Arab countries.

Al-Shehhi confirmed that this exhibition is organized for the third year, and it attracts many attendees with his techniques, which we present in the workshop what he explains to people, explaining that art is an opportunity to express feelings, but as a group exhibition that includes many works and names is an opportunity to exchange cultures with the outside.

She stressed that they, as Emirati artists, worked to establish the gallery to present their passion, aspire to more support and exhibitions, and to adopt the responsible authorities for young artists, noting that some areas, including the "Dubai Design District", which provides support for this group, especially as it enables them to present their ideas. And their creativity in a scene that carries many creators and cultures, from many countries and nationalities.

The exhibition, which brings together more than 125 artists, carried a group of works in the dark room, which is considered an experience presented for the first time, and carries a number of works and images that highlight the story of the union in the Emirates, where types of colors were used, including acrylic, in addition to lighting That makes the action shine in the middle of the dark room.

Pictures were displayed in this room, highlighting the old Dubai, including a picture of Sheikh Zayed Road dating back to 1980, and pictures documenting the march of the Union and its announcement.
