According to the official website of the Xinjiang Health Commission, from 0:00 to 24:00 on August 5, Xinjiang reported 27 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia, 12 new asymptomatic infections, and 8 new cured and discharged cases. The newly confirmed cases are all from Urumqi.

[Explanation] According to reports, Urumqi City has carried out at least two nucleic acid tests on residents in high-risk areas. At the same time, starting from August 4, Urumqi City has also conducted investigations on communities with confirmed cases, suspected cases, and asymptomatic infections. Residential areas, centralized medical observation points and other key areas, key populations, and high-risk susceptible populations have begun a new round of nucleic acid testing.
