According to Zhou Guobing, director of the Chongqing Meteorological Observatory, the temperature in Chongqing is expected to be generally high in August, with prominent periods of high temperature. The extreme maximum temperature in Pingba and River Valley areas can reach 40°C to 42°C, and the number of days with high temperatures exceeding 35°C can reach most areas. 10 to 22 days; there may still be 2 to 3 regional rainstorms in late August and early September; the risks of rainstorms, floods, mountain torrents and geological disasters are still high and need to be strengthened.

On the 4th, the Chongqing Meteorological Observatory issued the "High Temperature Orange Warning Signal" for four consecutive days. Zhou Guobing explained that in August every year, Chongqing has entered a period of sunny, hot, and less rainy. The reason why some citizens feel that the temperature has risen rapidly recently is that the excessive rain in Chongqing in June and July leads to low temperatures.
