The governor of Makkah, Khaled Al-Faisal, said today, in an interview with him on mbc channel, that the percentage of pilgrims performing the Hajj rituals this year is as follows:
-70% represent 160 nationalities from residents
-30% Saudis who are health practitioners and security men recovering from the #Krona virus

Al-Faisal explained that the holy sites were equipped with health quarantines in case one of the pilgrims was infected with the new Corona virus.

He added that the clinical capacity of the Makkah hospitals and the feelings reaches 3000 beds, and the medical service is provided by about 15 thousand health practitioners (they will be operated according to the need) 

Al-Faisal indicated that the number of the workforce in Hajj this year is approximately 60,000 participants from various security and service sectors.

Al-Faisal said that the electrical energy in the Grand Mosque and the holy sites during the Hajj season amounts to more than 180 megawatts, and that more than 1.2 million cubic meters of water will be pumped to Makkah and the holy sites during the Hajj period.

In a related context, Al-Faisal said that the Makkah Development Authority worked in cooperation with several parties to implement several projects in the Holy Places, most notably:

Expansion, construction and shading of pedestrian paths and paths

Establishing about 2500 toilets

Providing pilgrims housing sites to accommodate 40,000 pilgrims

He pointed out that the Makkah Region Development Authority is currently working on developing the center located on the Al-Haramain Road (Makkah - Jeddah), and the completion rates at it reached 87%, explaining that these centers contribute to improving the visual image of the entrances to Mecca, and speeding up pilgrims ’procedures within a period not exceeding 7 minutes.
