Peter Green broke through in the 1960s as a guitarist in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and in 1967 co-founded Fleetwood Mac with Mick Fleetwood, Jeremy Spencer and Bob Brunning.

Green then left Fleetwood Mac in 1970. When the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, Green was one of the eight band members who took a seat in rock's fine room.

Some of Peter Green's more famous compositions are "Albatross" and "Black magic woman" - which the American rock band Santana recorded and achieved great success with.
