China News Network, Hangzhou, July 14th (Qian Chenfei, Xu Qiaochu) A reporter learned from the official Jiande City in Zhejiang Province that at 15:00 on the 14th, the last floodgate of the Xin'anjiang Reservoir in Zhejiang Province was closed. As of the closing of the gate, the flood discharge of the reservoir lasted 8 days and the total discharge volume was 3.098 billion cubic meters. Based on the water capacity of Hangzhou's West Lake of about 14.5 million cubic meters, the total discharge of the reservoir is about 214 West Lakes.

At 10 o'clock on the 7th, the Xin'anjiang Reservoir opened 3 holes for flood discharge, and the same day it was increased to 7 holes for flood discharge. With the increase of rainfall in the Xin'anjiang Reservoir area and the increase in the amount of incoming water, the reservoir opened at 9 o'clock on the 8th, and the first 9-hole flooding was opened for the first time in 61 years.

Later, due to the weakening of the rain in the upstream of Xin'anjiang Reservoir and the continuous decrease of the water level, Xinanjiang Reservoir gradually closed its flood gates from 21:00 on the 9th to 15:00 on the 14th. After 173 hours of flood discharge, the total discharge volume of the reservoir was 3.098 billion cubic meters, and the water level dropped from the highest 108.39 meters to below the flood limit level, namely 106.35 meters.

Peng Hong, a member of the Xin'anjiang dispatching expert group, said, "Because of the uncertainty of future rains, the flood gates should be closed at a lower water level. From the current water level, the water level has been lower than the flood limit and remained. With a certain degree of safety margin, I decided to close the spillway at 15 o'clock today. This dispatch was quite successful and the water level was well controlled."

At present, the Xin'an River has returned to normal water level. Townships (streets) such as Xin'anjiang Street, Xiaya Town, Meicheng Township, which are more severely affected by floods, have actively carried out post-disaster self-rescue work, replanting crops, and helping industrial enterprises, beautiful towns and other construction projects resume work as soon as possible.
