Recently, the staff of the Management Center of Qinghuahai National Wetland Park in Baoshan, Yunnan, detected 2 adult bone-capped chickens and 5 cubs. This is the second winter bird that breeds in Qinghuahai after the mallard.
Bone-top chickens are widely distributed in most parts of China. Overwintering mainly in Africa, Southeast Asia and the Philippines, and often breeding in lakes and streams in northern China in summer. This is the first record of Bingding chicken breeding in Qinghuahai and has important research value.
