Actress and singer Mandy Moore - Jay L. Clendenin / Los Angeles Times / Polaris / Starface

For Mandy Moore, the excuses of Ryan Adams do not pass. Last year, the actress, who separated from the musician in 2015 after six years of marriage, had publicly denounced the psychological violence of which she had been the victim throughout their union. In the wake of other women had testified to their experience with the artist, some also accusing him of sexual misconduct.

Last week (July 3, 2020), Ryan Adams chose to apologize to them through the Daily Mail, claiming to be "still in shock of the devastating effects that (his) actions had triggered". Invited by Today , Mandy Moore said she was skeptical about these excuses.

Unconvincing Apologies

"You know, it's difficult because I feel in many ways that I said everything I wanted to say about him and this situation, but I find it curious that someone is making a public apology but don't do it in private. I speak for myself, I haven't heard from him. I'm not necessarily looking for excuses, but I find it curious that someone is interviewing about it without actually making amends in private, "said Mandy Moore.
