Actress Elisabeth Moss - PictureLux / Starface

Elisabeth Moss is preparing for her next role and it is that of the killer Candy Montgomery. The star of The Handmaid's Tale is  about to embody this dark character in Candy , a mini-series based on the true story of this Texas mother who murdered her church friend Berry Gore with an ax.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the project is developed by Universal Content Productions which then plans to sell it to pay channels or streaming platforms. The program is written by Robin Veith ( Mad Men , The Act ) who will also wear the executive producer cap alongside Nick Antosca.

An unexpected role

“I have wanted to play an anti-heroin for a long time. And I've been looking to work with Robin again after Mad Men  for even longer. So when she asked me to play a Texan housewife who turned into a killer, I just said, "Where do I sign?" "Said Elisabeth Moss in a press release.

A role that adds to the busy schedule of Elisabeth Moss who has yet to finish filming the 4th season of The Handmaid's Tale, which is scheduled to air next year.
