According to the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau news on July 10, an infrared automatic camera recently monitored a Chinese pangolin burrowing activity in a field in Huizhou, the province. This is the first time Guangdong recorded a Chinese pangolin burrowing in the wild during the day.

According to experts, the Chinese pangolin usually sleeps in caves during the day and only looks for food around at night. It is very rare to take pictures of its activities during the day.

According to the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau, in the past year, Guangdong has monitored 8 to 10 images of Chinese pangolin activities in at least 6 cities including Shenzhen, Huizhou, Zhaoqing, Shaoguan, Heyuan, and Chaozhou. Since this year, Huizhou, Chaozhou and other places have also implemented pangolin release to nature activities. (Source: Guangdong Province Forestry Bureau reporter Cheng Jingwei editor Zhou Jing)
