Lucy Hawking, daughter of the famous physicist Stephen Hawking, confessed months after her father died in March 2018 that she had been in shock after his death because she thought "it was going to last forever." And is that no one is eternal, but Hawking seemed to have defied time and science. The celebrated scientist, who contributed to the study of concepts as abstract to ordinary mortals as relativity and black holes, was almost better known to people for his wheelchair and metallic voice. Which perhaps contributed to giving an erroneous image of the disease that he suffered, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) .
