- Covid-19. What is happening with the coronavirus numbers?
Health has reported 56 deaths from coronavirus in the last week and totals five in the global figure since the pandemic began: 27,133.
There have also been 195 new infections, bringing the total number of people affected by coronavirus to 240,660.
For a few days, the figures of the epidemic have been raising great confusion due to the contrast between those provided by Health and those provided by the Autonomous Communities.
Yesterday, Sanidad raised the death toll to coronavirus to 63 in the last week but only added 1 deceased to its total balance since the pandemic began, leaving it at 27,128. On Tuesday, the death toll for the last week was 34 and the total was 27,127.
The head of the CCAES, Fernando Simón, has specified several times that the series will remain frozen and will only be modified when a death occurs the previous day; and this is how it will be until all the communities manage to update their series, something that they hope will be in "a matter of days".
Today, Catalonia has reported 10 new deaths, including confirmed and suspected cases. Asturias has notified 1 death,
