The Hakone Tozan Train in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, which was damaged by a typhoon last year and continues to be suspended in some sections, is undergoing restoration work smoothly from 2nd It began.

The Hakone Tozan Train in Hakone Town has been suspended due to landslides caused by typhoon No. 19 in October last year, but some sections have been suspended, but the operating company aims to resume operation on all lines at the end of next month and is restored. We are proceeding with the construction.

A trial run on the railroad track, which had been completed since last month, is being carried out, but the repair of the two places where the damage was great was completed, and the test run started on the 2nd by extending the section by about 2 km.

Of these, the "Osawa Bridge" in Ohiradai, Hakone Town, is a place where a large amount of rocks flowed into the tracks, and a train for trial runs slowly passed through.

According to the operating company, the construction of the overpass between Kowakudani Station and Miyanoshita Station, which suffered the most damage, remains, and we are working on re-laying the swept tracks. After this work is completed, the trial run section will be extended to the entire area to check safety.

Takashi Sugawara, Deputy General Manager of the General Affairs Department of the Hakone Tozan Railway, said, "We are relieved that the train has passed safely even though the site was severely damaged. We want to proceed with the work steadily and resume operation in late July."
