• Survivors: the deception that destroyed their grand finale

The coronavirus crisis and the consequent demand for information affected Telecinco's audiences in March, but failed to dethrone the Fuencarral chain. Two months later, the channel reaffirms its leadership thanks to the spectacular results of Survivors .

With a 15.4% share, Telecinco is once again the most watched network in Spain, already chaining 21 consecutive months of victories . It is the channel that grows the most, marking a tenth more than in April. And it also achieves its best result since November 2019, when its screen share was 15.8%.

Thus, Mediaset Spain becomes the operator that grows the most, capturing a 29.8% share. The group's locomotive, both in Telecinco and Cuatro, has been Survivors , which in its different variants has managed to occupy the top 15 positions of the 25 most viewed broadcasts of the month in Spain and a total of 19 positions in this ranking . Topping the table is the delivery of 'Express Survivors' on May 14 in Telecinco with 4,065,000 viewers and an average of 22% share.

Antena 3 remains in second place with a 'share' of 11%. It grows slightly, 0.2%, compared to April, boosted by the return of 'Pasapalabra' and its informative domain . In its premiere, the contest brought together 3,213,000 viewers in prime time on Wednesday the 13th and scored a 19.7% share. Also, two installments of 'Antena 3 Noticias 1' are positioned among the 25 most watched programs in May, with a ceiling of 3,049,000 viewers on May 20.

The 1, in third position, continues to fall and marks a 9.1% share, 0.2 points less than in April. The deliveries of 'Masterchef' on May 18 and 11 are among the most viewed of the public with 3,140,000 and 2,963,000 viewers, respectively. Also worthy of note are the deferred consumption of culinary 'talent' and the fourth season of 'El Ministerio del Tiempo', a series that adds 30 million to 47% more viewers to its long million viewers.

Despite yielding a tenth, La Sexta (7.6%; -0.1) returned to position itself as the fourth most viewed chain, prevailing over Cuatro (5.8%; +0.1) , which not even with the push of Survivors manages to escape from fifth place.

By groups, and as mentioned before, Mediaset Spain (29.8%; + 1.7%) is the group that grows the most thanks to Telecinco, Atresmedia (26%; +0.1) only adds a tenth and RTVE ( 14.9%; -0.5) worsened again with drops for all its channels in May.

According to the report published by GECA based on Kantar Media data, although television consumption decreased with respect to the beginning of the confinement, an historical record was registered for a month of May with 253 minutes , about four and a quarter hours a day. In April the figure reached its maximum with 294 minutes and in March the data was 277 minutes.
