Publicity
Africa is not spared from the coronavirus pandemic. If the disaster that some had wanted to announce has not happened, caution is still the order of the day as health systems are fragile in several countries of the continent.
In this program, we highlight media initiatives in Africa to raise awareness of the risks of Covid-19.
Mondoblog launches "United against Covid-19" in Burkina Faso and Niger
Mondoblog is the platform of RFI French-speaking bloggers. It has been worn for ten years by L'Atelier des Médias .
In recent days, with the help of CFI and the support of the French embassies in Burkina Faso and Niger, Mondoblog has launched “Unis contre le Covid-19”. The operation, coordinated from Paris by Raphaëlle Constant who presents it to us, should last nine weeks.
We explain everything to you here .
CoronaVérif, the rigor of African scientists in the face of the wildest beliefs
RFI emissions have been fully mobilized since the start of the pandemic. This is particularly the case for the Priority Health team , orchestrated by Caroline Paré. In addition to the programs and their digital versions, she has produced videos devoted to the fight against false information on the Covid-19 in Africa.
CoronaVérif , these are short videos in French, Mandingo, Hausa and Fulani, broadcast on social networks, where specialists from the continent bring their scientific rigor to twist their necks to the wildest beliefs.
Damien Glez's drawings come to life on social networks
Other short videos have been circulating in recent weeks on social networks: cartoons with the expert pencil of Damien Glez, a Franco-Burkinabé press cartoonist who lives in Ouagadougou. He is a member of the Cartooning for Peace cartoonists network.
In a humorous tone and in several languages of the Sahel region, these videos recall the importance of barrier gestures. Damien Glez explained his approach, the difficulties encountered and what he liked.
Jeunes Wakat multicast show in Burkina Faso focuses on interactivity
In the Sahel, young people are the majority. So it was they who needed to be educated first so that they became allies in the fight against the Covid-19.
The National Union of Free Audiovisual in Faso (Unalfa) produces a program called Jeunes Wakat . It is broadcast on numerous partner radios across the country and for several weeks, it has been devoting special programs in different languages on the coronavirus, information about the virus and the role of young people in combating the epidemic.
Rachid Assade Zongo , editor-in-chief of the Jeunes Wakat program , presents this multilingual program in the Media Workshop which is closest to the audience, and tells us how it evolved with the Covid-19
RFI Clubs are fully mobilized
Finally, we talk about the RFI Clubs , these associations of loyal and experienced listeners of world radio. There are over a hundred of them around the world.
Those of the African continent have mobilized a lot in recent weeks for prevention against coronavirus ... And RFI strongly supports their actions.
Sébastien Bonijol , one of the coordinators of the RFI clubs, presents some initiatives to us.
