Those who live are those who struggle; they are those with a firm purpose filling the soul and the forehead. Those with a high destiny climb the bitter peak. Those who walk thoughtfully, in love with a sublime goal. "Victor Hugo.

In the rather masculine world of comics, she is one of the rising authors. Winner of the Fauve d'Angoulême-Youth Prize 2018 and the Artemisia Prize for historical fiction for her album La guerre de Catherine , adapted from the novel by her co-writer Julia Billet, Claire Fauvel likes to tell stories. And in particular stories of women and girls, like that of the queen of the bandits "Phoolan Devi". And it is also in her own way another rebel that she stages in her new album: Nawel, a young girl from the suburbs, who will discover that music is her life, that she has talent, but that it is not always enough. A learning narrative that looks like social criticism, a beautiful and sensitive portrait of a youth full of hope and envy, intensity and energy; a youth of passion and therefore of suffering, which sails between precariousness, revolt and disillusionment. Night is my kingdom, by Claire Fauvel appeared at Rue de Sèvres.
