A big "phew" of relief for the inhabitants of Bouches-du-Rhône. While the weather looks very hot for the Ascension weekend, they will be able to enjoy their favorite beaches. Some of them, in any case: the prefecture of the department announced Tuesday the reopening of fifteen beaches, in Martigues, Arles, La Ciotat, Port-Saint-Louis and Fos-sur-Mer.

The beaches of Port-de-Bouc, Sausset-les-Pins and Carry-le-Rouet will reopen next Monday, those of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer on Wednesday May 27.

The Calanques prohibited

Bathing enthusiasts from Marseille or Cassis will have to wait until June 2. They will be the last in the department to reopen. All access to the Calanques National Park, between Marseille and La Ciotat, will also remain closed until June 2, whether by sea or by land.
