“3-4 ° C below the norm”: weather forecasters predicted cold weather in Central Russia

Air temperature 3-4 ° C below normal is expected in Central Russia until Friday, May 22. This was reported by the supervisor of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation Roman Vilfand.

“If we talk about the temperate and northern latitudes of Russia, then it is steadily cool. In the center of the country, the temperature is below normal by 3-4 ° C in the coming days, ”TASS quoted him as saying.

Villefand said that from Sunday to Friday, inclusive, the temperature will be in the range +12 ... + 17 ° С.

The representative of the Hydrometeorological Center explained the cold weather by the transfer of air masses from the north-west.

According to the forecast of the service, on Monday afternoon in Moscow it is expected to +12 ... + 14 ° C, on Tuesday - +13 ... + 15 ° C, on Wednesday and Thursday - +11 ... + 16 ° C, on Friday - +12 ... + 17 ° С.

Tatyana Pozdnyakova, the chief specialist of the Moscow Meteo Bureau in an interview with RT, also said that cooling is expected in the coming week. According to her, the forecast is so far "very hopeless."

“We will still be in the field of relative low atmospheric pressure. On May 18, in the second half of the night, light intermittent rain in places, tomorrow afternoon we will be near the center of one of the cyclones, so tomorrow there will be cloudy weather almost all day and it will rain from time to time, ”said weather forecaster RT.

According to her estimates, the minimum temperature on Monday morning will be +5 ... + 7 ° С, and in the region - +2 ... + 7 ° С. Pozdnyakova believes that the daytime air temperature in the city will reach +10 ... + 12 ° С, and in the region - +8 ... + 13 ° С.

The representative of the Moscow Meteo Bureau is of the opinion that on May 19 during the day the temperature will be in the range +13 ... + 15 ° С. At the same time, on Wednesday, May 20, intermittent rain is expected in places, at night the air in Moscow can cool down to +4 ... + 6 ° С, and the daytime forecast is up to +15 ° С.

“Thursday is almost the same weather as Wednesday. There will be more rain on Friday. Daytime temperature will be already a couple of degrees lower, somewhere +11 ... + 13 ° С, because cooler air will begin to come to us with the north wind, ”the weather forecaster concluded.

In turn, the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center Mikhail Leus also believes that the upcoming week in Moscow and the metropolitan area will continue to be colder than normal.

According to him, the general temperature background will be 3-5 ° C lower than the usual indicators of these May days. In addition, he warned of the possibility of precipitation.

“Cyclonic activity will prevail, therefore there are quite a lot of clouds, the probability of rain is high, but they will not be any strong, extreme. Rather, they will be in the nature of such spring, short-term showers, ”said RT expert.

According to Leus, on the coming Monday the capital will be under the influence of a cyclone, the weather will be cloudy with clearings, it will rain in the afternoon. The weather forecaster believes that Monday may be one of the coldest days of May. At the same time, according to Leus, on Tuesday this cyclone will leave the Cis-Urals, and the capital will be in its rear part. The meteorologist did not rule out the occurrence of weak frosts in the suburbs - up to -1 ° C.

“All these three days there will be a gusty wind: on Monday west, on Tuesday north-west, on Wednesday northeast. Its speed will be 5-10 meters per second with gusts of up to 15, ”Leus warned.

According to him, on Thursday the capital will remain in the zone of the frontal section, slowly shifting to the east. However, Leus mentioned a preliminary forecast according to which the weather will not change significantly next weekend.

Earlier, immunologist Vladimir Bolibok made several recommendations to allergy sufferers in connection with the period of seasonal flowering of plants. In an interview with RT, the specialist noted that the main way of protection for those who are allergic to plant pollen is to wear a mask.

“If we are talking about allergies to plant pollen, then the precautions are exactly the same as those recommended in connection with a pandemic (coronavirus. - RT ). That is, if people go outside and wear a mask, they are protected not only from viruses, but also from pollen. You can also wear glasses, ”the doctor explained.

Speaking about medical methods of solving the problem, Bolibok mentioned the so-called barrier means.

“These are nasal sprays that create a kind of film so that the allergen does not come into contact with the surface of the mucosa. That is, even if pollen gets inside, it does not settle. But this protection is only for the nose, and not for the throat or eyes. These are OTC drugs, but it’s best to get a doctor’s advice before buying any medicine. Now it is available remotely, ”the immunologist explained.

At the same time, he noted that in this season periods of warm weather are regularly replaced by cool and rainy weather, as a result of which blooming of plants is not observed, and a large amount of pollen does not appear in the air.

“Accordingly, if we are talking about an allergy to pollen from trees and plants, this does not cause much pain for patients ... You could even say that now everything is less pronounced than in previous seasons,” the specialist concluded.
