Relying on the exhibition space of Taiyuan Temple, the cultural relic resources unearthed in Shanxi and the existing archaeological research team and research results, the Shanxi Archaeological Museum also came into being. The former Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology was formerly a survey team of the Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee established in 1952.
