Alpilles, Sainte-Victoire, Côte Bleue: a dream that must remain so. For Easter, the Bouches-du-Rhône police prefecture warns that checks on compliance with confinement to combat the Covid-19 will be strengthened at sea, and on the motorway and hiking trails.

The temptation to change the place of confinement during this holiday weekend, in particular for the Aix-Marseille academy and Easter holidays, will be closely monitored with "1,200 personnel mobilized on the ground each of the three days", warned Thursday, the gendarmerie and police authorities of Bouches-du-Rhône, during a press conference.

Bikers on the forest paths

The vigilance of the police will focus on the highways with the entry and exit zones around the Marseilles agglomeration, but also the secondary axes and the littoral zone, they underlined.

"The attractive areas such as the Sainte-Victoire or Sainte-Baume massifs but also the Camargue" will be the subject of particular surveillance, with in particular the deployment of bikers who will explore the forest roads, explained the general Ronan le Floc'h, head of the Bouches-du-Rhône gendarmerie group.

The coastal zone will be monitored on land and at sea by the maritime gendarmerie to avoid that "a privileged few take advantage of having boats to go and confine themselves offshore or in areas inaccessible by land," he added. .
