The death of the Italian shoemaker Sergio Rossi who died last night, April 2, victim of the coronavirus, has just been confirmed. The creator had entered the Maurizio Bufalini Hospital in Cesena (Italy) days ago and was 84 years old. The sad news was given this morning to the media by his son Gianvito, current head of the international luxury footwear firm, and third generation of family artisans. On the firm's Instagram it could already be seen for several weeks that the brand had donated 100,000 euros to the fight against the pandemic and that 100% of its online sales would be donated for the same purpose.

Sergio Rossi was well known internationally for wearing many celebrities such as Amal Clooney, Jennifer Lopez or Naomi Watts, to name a few names, with highly sensual and comfortable designs. Synonymous with Italian luxury and sensuality, he followed the same professional path as his father. After the end of the Second World War, he learned the trade from his father and with only 14 years old he was already helping him to manufacture custom shoes.

Entrepreneur and very creative, he set up his own company in 1968 and his good reputation for creating comfortable and impeccable invoice stilettos led him to open his first store in the mid-80s.
