The patient’s brother previously told the story of (Mahdi’s) suffering from the disease, saying: “In August 2017, my brother noticed an ulcer in the tongue area causing bleeding when touched, red spots appearing, feeling pain in the ear, swelling and numbness in the mouth and tongue, and a decrease was also observed. Sharp in body weight, so we took him to the emergency department of Shakhbout Medical City, and after conducting laboratory tests and analyzes and CT scans, the attending physician told me the need to take a sample from the tongue area to confirm the disease, where my brother stayed in the hospital for two days, and after the results of the tests and analyzes appeared, the doctor informed me of a tumor Cancerous in the right part of the tongue, lymph nodes, and Jeb undergo surgery to remove the tumor ».

He continued: «The news fell on us like a thunderbolt, and I never believed that my brother had cancer of the tongue, and I did not tell my family members, and I could not hold myself at the time, I was very crying, as I felt that I would lose my brother, and then the medical team explained his condition, and that the situation needs to "She surgically intervened, so she agreed." He added: "The surgery was performed the next day, after which he stayed in the intensive care unit under observation for five days, was transferred to the general department, and the treatment was completed for two weeks, and he was trained to swallow and move the tongue and speech, then he was discharged from the hospital when his health condition improved."

He explained that the health insurance covered the cost of the surgery, the period of his stay in the hospital, the cost of medicines, and the physician advised him to attend chemotherapy and medicinal sessions, as "I was keen to take him to all chemotherapy sessions, for fear of spreading the disease in his body."

He continued: «At the end of last February, I could not provide the cost of treatment sessions and medication for my brother, as health insurance is not covering the cost.»
