Three pharmacists in the Alpes-Maritimes are being sued in two separate cases for the illegal sale of protective masks, we learned on Saturday from concordant sources. The first case concerns a pharmacist in Nice, owner of her pharmacy, who sold masks when they have been requisitioned by the government since a decree of March 23. As a bonus, it sold hydroalcoholic gel made in artisanal conditions from gel for ultrasound.

Referred Thursday to the court of Nice for non-compliance with regulations and deception on the goods, this pharmacist asked for a postponement of her trial, which was set for April 27, said the prosecutor's office in Nice. Pending the hearing, she was placed under judicial supervision, accompanied by a deposit of 5,000 euros and a ban on professional practice. It is likewise impossible for him to go to his pharmacy. The number of masks seized has not been specified.

Bail

In the second case, carried out by the urban security brigade of the Grasse police station, two pharmacists, employees this time, were arrested for selling masks illegally, in particular through a snack bar. These two doctors of pharmacy practicing respectively in Cannes and Grasse resold masks despite the ban and, moreover, not bearing the CE mark guaranteeing their effectiveness. More than 220 masks were seized in the context of this file.

Brought to justice on Friday, they are prosecuted for illegal work and deception on the goods. They had to pay bail of 2,000 and 1,500 euros respectively, and were placed under judicial supervision before their judgment on 25 May. The Grasse court, contrary to the prosecution's requisitions, did not pronounce a ban on professional practice against them. The investigation also did not establish the facts against the manager of the snack bar, who is not being prosecuted, said the prosecutor's office in Grasse.
