Micro plastic Detected from 98 out of 100 rivers and ports in Japan March 29 5:24

An organization conducting environmental research on microplastics, which are thought to have an impact on ecosystems, examined 100 locations, including rivers and ports in Japan, and found that microplastics were detected in 98 locations.

The survey was conducted by "Pirika," a corporation that last year, together with university researchers, collected water from a total of 100 rivers, ports, and lakes in 12 prefectures, and collected microplastics less than 5 mm in size. I checked whether it was included.

The result was that microplastic was detected in 98 locations.

An analysis of what these microplastics were originally found showed that many were considered to be artificial turf, microscopic capsules containing agricultural fertilizer, plastic ropes, or sheets used for construction.

"Pirika" representative Fujio Kojima said, "Plastic products used in various industries have already become microplastics when they enter the sea. In addition to examining the actual situation, companies and local governments I would like to talk about solving the problem. "
